How to Choose a Suitable Spa Pool

Consider factors like size, your budget, and the desired features. Look for spa pools from established brands with long-lasting warranties, excellent after-sales service, and quality shells made from hardier materials. For the frames, we recommend hard-wearing plastic or galvanised steel over timber, which can become susceptible to rot over time. The frame is the support structure of your spa pool — the better it is, the longer your spa will last. Choose options with better-insulating properties, as they will retain heat efficiently and be more cost-effective to run in the long term. Investing in a quality spa pool upfront may be costly, but it’s worth it as it has reduced maintenance needs overall.

Setting Up Your Spa

Your spa pool has arrived — now what? To set up your spa pool, you must ensure your system is clean from contamination that may have occurred during the manufacturing process. Fill your spa pool according to the exact level of water stipulated by the instruction manual. Once filled, ensure you have purchased the correct simplesilver™ option for your spa pool size and place the tablet anywhere in the water before turning on the power.

Water Circulation Period

On our website, follow the “Getting Started” process at the top of the homepage. Make sure your spa pool filter pump is set correctly and operating consistently over this seven-day period to ensure the tablet minerals are dispersed evenly through the water. The minerals are distributed into the spa pool water at a daily controlled rate. Proper distribution of simplesilver™ minerals ensures full control of pH, alkalinity, total dissolved solids, scale, corrosion, and bacteria. If you notice contaminants in your pool during this time or your pool water has turned murky, fret not, simplesilver™ is doing the job. Such contaminants are removed through the filtering process and by cleaning them After seven days, you’ll have to give the filters a quick clean using an approved sanitiser, as water alone cannot clean these.

Once the seven-day circulation period is over, and your spa pool water is crystal clear and odourless, you’re ready to hop in! Take care not to use your spa pool prematurely during the initial seven days, as there will be insufficient minerals in the water to inhibit the growth of bacteria and removal of other contaminants, affecting the performance of your water in the long run.
